Censor This is made by one person. You'll normally hear back within a couple of days. If you're reporting a problem, mentioning your device, your iOS version, and whether it happened with a photo or a video helps a lot.

Frequently asked questions

What's free and what's paid?

Censoring photos is free. The free version shows ads and adds a small watermark to exported photos. A single one-time purchase removes the ads and the watermark and unlocks video export. There is no subscription.

I already paid. How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to buy it, then open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchase. If it still shows as locked, email the address above with your App Store receipt and it will be sorted out.

How do I censor part of a photo?

Pick a photo, choose Blur or Pixelate, and swipe over whatever you want hidden with your finger. Pinch to zoom in for small details like a line of text, adjust the brush size and strength with the sliders, and use undo if you go too far.

How does video censoring work?

Draw a box over the thing you want hidden. Censor This tracks it automatically as it moves through the frame. Tap Detect Faces to put a box on every face in the current frame at once. When the tracker loses something or you want frame-accurate control, scrub to that point and add a keyframe to reposition the box by hand.

The box stopped following the subject. What can I do?

Tracking can lose a subject when it turns away, leaves the frame, or passes behind something. Scrub to the frame where it drifted, move the box back into place, and a new keyframe is recorded there. The box is interpolated between keyframes, so a couple of corrections are usually enough.

Does censoring change my original photo or video?

No. Edits are never written over the original. The censored copy lives in the private library inside the app, and you can export or re-share it from there any time. Your camera roll is only touched when you explicitly save to it.

Can a blur or pixelation be reversed?

Blur and pixelation are applied directly to the pixels of the exported file, not as a removable layer, so the hidden detail is not in the file you share. For small text, a strong pixelation or a larger brush is safer than a light blur.

Does Censor This upload my photos or videos anywhere?

No. Face detection, tracking, and all censoring happen on your device. The app sends anonymous crash reports so bugs can be fixed, and the free version shows ads. The details are in the privacy policy.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision via the App Store.
